Due to several factors we have been forced to push back the release of 2009 Topps UFC. It will now ship out on September 21st.
The silver lining to this delay is that it has given us the ability to include autograph cards from all 16 competitors from the upcoming TUF 10 season in addition to the already announced TUF 9 fighters. These subjects include Kimbo Slice, Roy Nelson, Marcus Jones, Justin Wren, Mike Wessell, and many more. These cards will be additional autos found in packs, meaning that some boxes can contain more than the promised 2 auto cards! Below are samples of the cards. Let me know what you think.
I hope this product wasn't pushed back solely for the purpose of aligning with the premiere of the new season of The Ultimate Fighter. I'm disappointed because I thought this product was originally going to come out in July, but I still intend to buy plenty of it.
It was not delayed just to coincide with the TUF 10 premier. It was more the case of other factors caused the delay of the product and it conveniently falls around the TUF 10 premier. And due to that, we were able to slide these additional cards into the product.
Meanwhile, do you at least have a checklist we can drool over? Is it close to the original Product info sheet? Are the tbd's determined yet? We're all itchin here! LOL
Everyone loves these cards. I'd like to see some early day UFC cards. Like Keith Hackney hitting Joe Son in the nuts. Duel Autographed shorts! LOL Man, that would be nuts, Literally! A real Jewel.
I am getting desperate to see these cards. I was really getting excited they would arrive this week. And I think the delay is driving up the prices of round 1 which is good for a collector like me (with sets and unopened boxes) but horrible for a collector like me trying to complete open sets. The silver parrallel round 1s are blowing up. Hope the 2009 version is great too!
Please address pricing. Originally stated SRP was $4.00/pack on this blog. Already these cards are selling for more than triple that! What will Topps do to address this price fixing by dealers and hobby shops? How can any of us real collectors get these cards at a reasonable price?
We are aware that the price of our Hobby packs and boxes are being sold in some places for above the stated SRP of $4.00 per pack. We are unable to control the price of the hobby product whether in stores or online, but you will be able to find the product at retail chains such as Target and Wal-Mart as well as Topps online store at a fixed price.
We are continuing to develop great UFC products and always try to do our best to provide able supply to meet the ever growing demand.
You are correct in that assumption. Both products have a street date of 9/30.
Just as an FYI - we are starting to see the samples as they come of the press and these cards are looking great. The inserts (Bloodlines, Greats of the Game, etc.) are looking cooler than I even thought they would.

Yes, I too also would like to see a more complete checklist than the one in the sell sheet.
ReplyDeleteAlso, other stats like pack odds and fighter groups would be good to have too.

What is the SRP for the retail packs?
ReplyDeleteSRP for UFC retail packs is $2.99. Packs contain 6 cards per pack.
ReplyDeleteI am assuming that both hobby and retail products will have the same street date. Is this correct?

So these will be in stores on the 30th, then?
ReplyDeleteIs Alessio Sakara a part of the set? Just curious.
So???? Did they ship?!?!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking all over for these cards. Please tell me what retail chains are selling these.
